This is a non-shooting class. Our women-only class is designed for those new to firearms or considering purchasing a handgun. Our approach eliminates the typical "gun culture" atmosphere often found in firearms classes. We offer a relaxed and fun environment where you can feel comfortable asking questions, sharing personal stories, and participating in interactive discussions. This class accommodates all skill levels, from beginners to more experienced shooters. We will cover the basics of handguns, discuss important considerations before investing in a gun, and necessary gear/equipment. In addition, we will delve into topics such as survival mindset and psychology, concealed carry considerations, and emergency trauma response. Our instructors will provide hands-on training in a safe and positive environment.
This is a shooting course. This training is designed for women who are brand new to firearms (and maybe have never picked up a gun before) through those ready to learn more about defensive shooting and take the next step with their firearms skills, tools, and mindset. Shooting fundamentals will be introduced, reviewed, and built upon, while also exploring universal safety rules, situational awareness, common types of handguns, ammunition types, marksmanship skills, advanced firearms handling, defensive pistol fundamentals, and the use of deadly force. Specifically, Women’s Handgun and Self-Defense Fundamentals is all about sharing the basics—along with the fun, the seriousness, and the importance of being a responsibly armed female. After all, we are worth protecting.
While most Americans are comfortable dealing with the cuts and scrapes of everyday life, and tens of thousands have learned the Heimlich maneuver and CPR, most individuals would be a bit less comfortable dealing with severe, life-threatening injuries or illnesses when seconds count and EMS personnel or the emergency room are minutes (or longer) away. We cover the proper way to deal with significant issues such as serious bleeding, chest injuries, a compromised airway, spinal injuries, broken bones, and more. While it might seem unrealistic to translate what professional EMTs and paramedics can do in an emergency versus the things that non-professionals would be capable of in life-threatening medical and traumatic emergencies, it all boils down to the same thing — sustaining the life of the patient until he or she can be delivered to the emergency room.
Delivered in 2 parts and based on data gathered from 48 mass shootings since Columbine, this course is comprehensive for every school, church and family in America. We discuss what can be learned from these tragedies, including whether reducing magazine capacity or banning any class of firearm would have changed the outcome. We look at whether “gun-free” zones figure into the planning of these mass murderers, whether victim response at any mass shooting has made a difference, and whether “universal background checks” or other proposals by gun control advocates stand a chance of stemming the current trajectory of these shootings. We summarize this data with a comprehensive plan designed to help identify and reduce the occurrences of mass shootings.
